BIOGRAPHY

Joseph Hillier was born in Cornwall, England and studied in Newcastle Upon Tyne and New Orleans. After working in London for two years Hillier returned to Newcastle where he continues to work on commissions and exhibitions in the UK and internationally.

“I make figurative sculpture for exhibitions and to commission. My work re-interprets the human form amid an environment of impenetrable sculptural motifs. The pairing of the figures with these personal archetypes, forms a curious drama; a metaphor for man attempting to understand his external and internal worlds.”
